500 Followers Celebration Post!

Definitely wasn’t expecting to wake up to this in the morning! I am super excited and want to say a big Thank You to all of my followers! Blogging has really allowed me to do something productive in my free time, and I have felt like I am wasting a lot less time in the past few months. I have found amazing stories with amazing authors, and have given myself fuel to read as I work towards new milestones. I’ve never been the perfect blogger, which can be proven by the number of unread ARCs that I still have sitting in online and real life libraries. But, I am constantly working to improve, and seeing the likes and comments I get on my posts only inspires me to work even harder.

I am not sure how this is going to change in college. I might start blogging less, and even switch to limiting the number of books I read a week to make sure that I am spending an adequate amount of time studying. I was also considering doing a 500 followers giveaway, but with college starting, I don’t want to put any extra burdens on myself. I don’t know what the future holds, but I am pretty proud of how much this little blog has achieved in the past year and a half. I don’t want to slow down or stop, but my priorities have to be on school.

That being said, I am considering adding some different types of posts! You probably all know, but I am a big kpop fan. I want to show some of the groups that I love to you all! I also enjoy watching anime and reading manga, so I want to get back into that to showcase it on my blog. I want to show all of the things I enjoy to you guys!

Keep on the lookout for new content and posts, even if they might be less frequent! I can’t stop thanking you guys for how far we have come, and I hope that you support me just as much as we move into the next stage of this blog. I don’t ever want to stop giving content to you all!

Also, keep a lookout for a giveaway in the next few months!

So, onto the life update!

As you can see on my blog, I was really into blog tours for a while. Now, I realize that I don’t want to spend 90% of my time reading books specifically for tours, and so the tours are going to start winding down. Not completely stopping! Just winding down. I have maybe one or two a week planned in July.

If you’ve been with me for a while, you know that I sometimes go into a gigantic reading slump during the summer months. I was worse this year by signing myself up for a lot of things, so I can already feel a slump coming on. Nevertheless, I still want to keep reading. This year I have joined up with a lot of amazing authors to be on their ARC teams, and I have fallen behind in reading those. Therefore, this summer will focus on pleasure reading and finishing up ARCs so that I start off with a clean slate for September. I definitely won’t be signing up for too many more tours. I just want to work through some of these short novels and write reviews for them.

On that note, I also wanted to mention that I have several non-tour related reviews coming up! I have been forgetting to do them, and so I am about 2 weeks behind on non-tour or release blitz reviews. I also haven’t told you all about any of my Online Book Club reviews, and I have done a few of those too! Hopefully I will be able to catch up before the end of June, and then start off without a backlog in July.

Thanks for sticking around until the end, and I will see you in my next post!

Thanks for 400 Followers!

thanks for 400

I was hoping that I was going to reach 400 followers sometime this month, and I succeeded! Thank you all for sharing my posts, commenting, and being so supportive of my blog.

Not all of you know, but I am in my senior year of high school. I thought that I would be going to an Ivy League because of my high grades and many, many activities and internships, but I was rejected from every one. I was saddened by this, as I realized that I would have to go to a local college and live with my parents throughout college. I don’t mind my family, but I was looking forward to going away and being independent during college.

Then I looked at what I had done. I started to look at my blog, and how far I had come. I have gone from struggling to write 300-word book reviews to writing 400-600 words with ease. I have gone from 3 views on my post in total to having 3 views within the first 3 minutes. I’m not a failure, but instead, I have succeeded at something far more important than simply getting a few good grades in school. I am able to have fun doing something that I love! I am flooded with free books, which is wonderful, and I’m reading at a faster pace than I have ever done before. With the help of the Online Book Club, I am even able to fund my own lunches with my book reviews. This is incredible.

If I had gone to an Ivy League, I wouldn’t have had much time for blogging. Now that I am going to my local school which is easier, I will have hours upon hours per day for just reading and blogging. I might even start to use this as a part-time job so that I can pay for my own textbooks. This is something that I always dreamed of: independence. This blog has given me that.

It has even helped me in life! I have made new friends, helped my school’s book club flourish, and started to find happiness in reading again. I am a generally happier person, which my family has noticed, and I am able to just enjoy life.

Therefore, I am definitely going to keep growing my blog and Instagram accounts for the next few years. Once I receive my degree in business, I might even work for a publishing company! Who knows? Working behind-the-scenes is so much fun, and I want to keep doing this for a long time.

So thank you! Thank you all for doing this for me. I aim to do something big for 500, so keep an eye out!

Hidden Figures

Nintendo Switch

I am really excited about this console! As of now I am still trying to get a preorder of the neon one, but every time I seem to find one it goes out of stock. I am going to get it with some eshop cards instead of buying one of the preorder games. This is simply because I am not much of a Legend of Zelda person, so if it comes down to it I WILL force myself to play that, which may not be awful but it may be tedious. However, I would much rather buy a random 3rd Party or indie game that comes out on day one rather than the Zelda game. The games that I am really looking forward to on the Switch are Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, Skyrim, Minecraft, Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem warriors, and whatever else decides to surprise me. I also hope that a new console Animal crossing game comes out, seeing that the last non handheld one was for the Wii, and that the 3DS one is already turning 5 years old this summer. I hope that the Wii U goes way down in price soon, simply because I never got it because I did not have the money at the time although I really wanted it. If I manage to snag it in the last couple of years of its life, I may be able to catch up on the games that I have missed.

That’s all for now, I am going to go back to sleeping and drinking water XD see you later and thanks for reading!
