The Cousins Blog Tour + First Impressions Review

The Storys are the envy of their neighbours: owners of the largest property on their East Coast island, they are rich, beautiful, and close. Until it all falls apart. The four children are suddenly dropped by their mother with a single sentence:

You know what you did.

They never hear from her again.

Years later, when 18-year-old cousins Aubrey, Milly and Jonah Story receive a mysterious invitation to spend the summer at their grandmother’s resort, they have no choice but to follow their curiosity and meet the woman who’s been such an enigma their entire lives.

This entire family is built on secrets, right? It’s the Story legacy.

This summer, the teenagers are determined to discover the truth at the heart of their family. But some secrets are better left alone.

THE BRILLIANT NEW THRILLER FROM INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF ONE OF US IS LYING KAREN M MCMANUS

The Cousins is such an addictive read, I couldn’t stop reading it once I startedd. I can’t wait until finals season is over and I get the chance to finish reading this awesome book.

Each chapter of this book is told from the POV of a different cousins. They all come from different walks of life and they all struggle with different things with their dysfunctional families, but they all are forced to come together in order to find out what is truly going on with their Grandmother. None of them have met this grandmother who hasn’t spoken to her children since they were in college, but they all received this letter from her asking them to work for her island over the summer. Their parents force them to go, secretly hoping to find out why their mother stopped speaking to them. These teens could truly care less about this as they already had plans for the summer but they are trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Now while on the island, they are finding out secrets about their parents and what their lives really were like before the mysterious event occurred that made their mother cut them off completely. Hopefully the cousins can solve the mystery and get to know one another throughout this summer. I love a good mystery novel, and this book is definitely giving me We Were Liars vibes, so I can’t wait to find out what the secret will be in this novel.
