Sophie’s Journal Review

This book is a prequel to The Carlswick Mysteries series. It is a short story told from the point of view of Sophie, Stephanie Cooper’s great aunt, who falls in love with Edward Knox, a pilot. This story takes place in 1939, when Europe is about to go into war, and it is almost a version of Romeo and Juliet.

I have not read the rest of the series, and so this prequel was just a short introduction for me. It reminded me of a series that I loved when I was younger, the Dear America series, where history was told through a series of diary entries. I really enjoyed this short story, and I plan to start the rest of the series very soon.

Overall Rating: 5/5
