Kane is attending an annual Hindu religious event at the Temple of Origin, near the Mount Agung volcano. As he is enjoying time with his friends, gunshots break out in the temple. One of the most notorious gangsters of the area has been betrayed by someone in the area, and a 6-year old girl named Ayu has been taken hostage. Now, Kane must find out who doublecrossed the gangster and rescue little Ayu, before it is too late.

This action thriller novel kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. Sometimes when reading this type of book, or short story, I find myself losing focus and eventually giving up halfway through. Nevertheless, I read this book in almost all one sitting, and I wanted to read more books in the Hiram Kane series right after. This was a perfect book to pass the time on a dull winter afternoon, and I cannot wait for the next installment of the series.
