Alex and her team have to fight the Enhanced in order to free themselves and save the rest of their siblings. Nevertheless, it can never be as simple as that. One of them, Gus, even has to deal with newfound magical powers. These powers are unstable, and he wonders if the other Enhanced have the same powers as him. All of the siblings are going through emotional struggles as they remember the tough times in the facility with their handlers.
I found it difficult to get into the Engineered Rebel series at first, but I am all for it now. My two favorite characters are definitely Ty and Gus, and I am happy to see their relationship blossom in this novel. I don’t want to spoil too much because a lot happens in this book, but I would definitely recommend that when you get past book 7 of the Freya Snow series that you pick up this novel. This series is definitely worth every last bit of your time.
