Rejecting My Shifter Boss

This Shifter CEO just met his match. But will he be able to make her his?

Kiera recently escaped a cult with her younger sister Peyton and moved to Forest Park, Colorado. They still aren’t out of the woods yet, but Kiera and Peyton have both decided to get jobs to try to save some money. Kiera definitely isn’t looking for love right now and just wants to finally feel safe for the first time ever. Then, the CEO of the company she now works for walks by. She feels instantly connected to him but she doesn’t know why. She CANNOT fall for anyone right now, so she pushes him away. Roman knows that he’s met his fated mate, but his mate is human and doesn’t feel the bond. He couldn’t leave her alone even if he wanted to, and he is determined to make her see things the way he does.

I enjoyed this intro to this simple paranormal romance series! This is a very quick read and I read the entire trilogy in one night. Kiera is definitely an interesting and independent character who has an intriguing backstory since she was a part of a cult. She is just getting used to the ways the real world works and unlearning the toxic mentality the cult forced on her. She’s also not used to having anyone she can rely on as her mother left her and her sister with their father who was obsessed with the cult. Roman, on the other hand, wants to take care of his mate. He wants to provide everything for her and protect her with his whole being. She simply has to open up and let him into her heart.

The shifter portion of this book isn’t super strong. I feel like this could have been a regular “soulmate” romance but the shifter portion just added a bit of spice. I did enjoy hearing the “voice” of Roman’s wolf during the portions of the story told from his POV. This series is definitely a fun October read!

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new adult romance novella to enjoy.

Rejected By The Billionaire Shifter

When the full moon comes, will this Billionaire Shifter Alpha be able to resist his true mate?

Peyton has been happy to see her sister Kiera find her match, but she still feels lonely in Colorado. That is until she meets her new shifter boss Stryker. Peyton is ready for her romance and to be swept off her feet like the princesses in the stories she’s adored since she was a child. Roman constantly chased Kiera from day one but Peyton doesn’t even plan on running away. To her shock, Stryker doesn’t seem to be interested in her. Peyton has found her soulmate, and he is trying his absolute best to shut her out. Stryker has his reasons to avoid having a mate, but he can’t deny that Peyton would be perfect for him. Will he be able to put aside his past and accept the love that Peyton is willing to give him? Or will he push her away so much that she will never return?

I can’t decide whether my favorite couple in this trilogy is Petyon and Stryker or Kiera and Roman. Peyton and Stryker have more chemistry to me, but I always get wary about “enemies to lovers” esque romances. I don’t think Peyton and Stryker were ever enemies, but Stryker was definitely too closed off to even consider accepting Peyton’s advances at the start of the novel. This novel managed to tread that “rejection” line very carefully. Stryker was never so horrible to Peyton that I thought he would be a fully toxic/abusive partner. Peyton also didn’t let Stryker walk all over her. It was a good mixture of a back-and-forth romance throughout the novella that I enjoyed.

The conflict in this novel was definitely kicked up a notch from the previous one. I was actually at the edge of my seat and really concerned for the characters’ safety. I really started feeling the “paranormal” part of this paranormal romance a bit more in this book, which made me happy. I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book of this trilogy!

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an adult romance book to enjoy.

Rejected By The CEO Shifter

Will these two shifters be able to see how lucky they are to have each other? Or will he have pushed her too far away.

Everly has been lying about her age to her employer for months. She said she was over 18 but just turns 18 at the start of the novel. Her family was killed in a hunting accident and she was left alone at 17 years old as an injured shifter who lost her ability to shift. This job gave her the ability to get back on her feet, but now she is 18 and has the ability to find her fated mate. Her friend group that consists of Peyton and Kiera is fun, but they both have mates and are moving towards having families full of children. Everly doesn’t want to be left on her own and she is happy that she has enough money through her job to search for her mate. On her birthday, she smells her mate in the building she works at. At first, she’s ecstatic. Then, she realizes it’s her boss Archer who is a complete jerk. Archer doesn’t want a weak mate as he hasn’t gotten where he is in life by being weak. What could be weaker than a shifter mate who cannot even shift? He definitely doesn’t want Everly as his mate.

I didn’t like how Archer acted towards Everly. He had no idea why she could not shift and just assumed that it was because of some hidden weakness of hers. He did not even give her the chance to tell him her story before completely dismissing her. I absolutely adored Everly and tolerated Archer because of that. Like I said in my review of the previous book, there is a fine line that must be tread in an enemies-to-lovers romance. I feel like Archer went a little too far over the line, almost to the point where I never would have been able to see the two reasonably happy together. The thing that saved this section of the book for me was the fact that Everly was such a strong character. She had been through so much and she wasn’t going to stick around and pine after her mate after being rejected. Even though she had been waiting for this day all her life, she wasn’t going to let him walk all over her simply because he was her mate.

Another thing that saved this book for me was the conflict/action. This book had the best action in the series, I was definitely on the edge of my seat for this one and it was a great end for the trilogy. I felt like my evening was well-spent after finishing this lovely box set!

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a new adult paranormal romance read.
