Let me just take a moment to say, look at this cover! I love it so much, it might just be my favorite cover yet.
Freya continues to work at the coffee shop with Sarah, and one day a girl named Alex comes in and gives Freya her number. Freya is nervous about trying to date a human, but she decides to contact her anyway. They are happy together, but when Freya is being attacked by a demon, all of a sudden Alex appears and helps her defeat him. This reveals that Alex is an Enhanced Human, or a human that has the power to silence the magic of other magical creatures. This would not be so bad if there weren’t tense feelings between the Witches and the Enhanced Humans since the war years ago. Also, there have been disappearances of humans lately, and Enhanced Humans were to blame. Now, Freya must trust her girlfriend and hide her from the others who might kill her on sight if they knew that she was enhanced.
I really enjoyed seeing Freya with a significant other again. Seeing her having someone who loves her or will fight for her always made me happy in this series, and the addition of Alex has satisfied all of those criteria. The scenes where they fought together were also exciting to read, but their comfort/fluff scenes were adorable.
Also, this book did not forget about Sarah or Mel with the addition of Alex, so I got to see more of Freya having fun with her friends in their coven.
I recommend this series to anyone who wants to read a diverse fantasy story with a strong heroine and action scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.
